Project 1A  Stewardship

                                                     The first time ever I draw myself.
My name is Cheng Yu Chian , origin from Johor Bahru, Johor. I am the youngest among my small family, which form up from my father, my mother, my eldersister and me.My hobby is play badminton and basketball. Both of these hobbys make my body fitter. I am a shy people and I hope I can build up my confident, which able to stand in front of people and give a talk confidently.Last but not least, I hope that I can be a successfull building surveyor one day.

Project 1B  Personal Logo

From the first sight,what you can see is a big tree surround by a big yellow 'C'.This logo actually symbolise my short form of name which is 'CYC'.Can you saw all the 'CYC'?It is not easy to find the first 'C' and the 'Y',but where is the last 'C'?It is actually the combination of the tree trunk with the big yellow 'C'.  Why had I choose YELLOW as the colour of the big 'C'?Yellow symbolise clarity and awareness.As a building surveyor, clarity and awareness is very important as we need to report the condition of the building to the person in charge.BROWN colour represent serius and stability which is a very important characteristic need to held by a building surveyor as we need to face various type of condition when surveying a building.GREEN colour represent symbolise the love of nature.We need to take care of our nature surrounding while develope the building industry.


                                                             Project  2A  Natural Structure

                                                           
 

This photo is taken in HBP, which is just in front of E48B.I choose bamboo to draw as bamboo represent the spirit of never give up.Althought there is wind or bad weather which try to make the bamboo fall down, but bamboo will never fll down and stand still or even grow taller.We, as a human should learn the way of bamboo living which never give up to achieve success in life.

                                                          Project  2B  Man-made Structure

This photo is taken right infront of the basketball court near Bakti Permai.I had chosen this bus-stop as my man made structure to draw because this bus stop is form up from two bus stop, which not only can let more people wait bus inside this bus stop, but as a shading while having heavy rain.As a human, we should keep our heart widely, just like this bus stop, help as much people as we can.  

Project 3A A Free- Form Sculpture

This is the sculpture I do to show up the theme of  'Harmony'.As we can see, the building is form up from many paper strips.Without any one of the paper strip will make the building become unstable.This show the importance of harmony.We also can see that there are two people are greeting to each other.This also symbolize the harmony situation among us.

Project 3b :Structural Model of Functional Space

In project 3b, we are divided into several groups to make a L-shaped comforTABLE CHAIR which will located near the HBP pond-waterfall. The concept of this chair is relax.We purposely designed it like a vacation home so that it giv people a feeling of relax.The round things located on the chair was actually the table of the chair.It can let the some people put their book as well as drink on it.

Project 4 : PRESENTATION DRAWINGS

In project 4, we are required to draw axonometric drawing, perspective drawing and presentation drawing for our previous project 3.This is the first time I draw axonometric drawing and isonometric drawing.After I draw all these drawing only I realise how important all these drawing is.It provide the best view of the object we design and let other have a clear idea on how our design is.It also consist of various infomation such as the dimension and how it look like from various view point.

For project 5, we are required to do site analysis.We chosen Sunway Mutiara, Batu Maung as the place to analysis.

Project  5a: Neighbourhood Elements: Existing Condition

In project 5a, we need to draw out the key plan, location plan and layout plan of Sunway Mutiara, Batu Maung.Inside project 5a, we are required to insert as much info as we can to let other people know what actually consist within this residence area.

Project 5b: Neighbourhood Elements: Proposed Improvement

In project 5b, we are required to give some idea on how to make the resident area better.I had suggested to add on some facilities which cannot found within Sunway Mutiara, for example basketball court and resident hall.

Project 6a: Amphitheatre Stage Design

This is the amphitheatre we designed as well as the conceptual drawing.

This is how our amphitheatre looks from different point of view.

This is the drawing consist of key plan, site plan and location plan. 

Project 6c: Physical Scale Model

In project 6c, we are required to build a model of scale 1:10 for the amphitheatre we designed.This is the final product of our amphitheatre model.It is the hardwork of all of the members in our group.

Project 7 : Exhibition

Finally, we finish all our the major project and is our show time to show out what we had done for the previous project.

We had co-operate among each other to decorate our booth.

Essay

After all and all, it is time to the end of RUS 104 Integrated Studio 13/14. I had learn various type of drawing skill such as hatching, scribbing, and so on. I also learn many ways on drawing such as perspective and axonometric drawing.When come to the group project, I had learn that how to co-operate with other people without considering our races and religion. In the end, I take this chance to thanks all the lecture and student who ever help me in complete my studio work, without you I would not done what I done now. HBP studio life rock!

Water colour class by our small "teacher"

Everyone was focus and listen to our small teacher on how to colour using water colour.

 Now is 2am but everyone does not even show out a little bit of tired and continue on their chair!

Our group also continue doing our L-shaped Chair althought it is aready midnight.

We are glad that our DEAN had come to our Studio class to show us how to draw a better perspective drawing.

This is the primary design for project 6

Obviously, we choose the symbol of Langkawi, which is the eagle as our man-made structure to sketch.
